Unit 3 - Being an online student

When I first decided that I would do my classes online, my first impression was will I be able to keep up since there will be no one that I would have to face on a weekly basis. As it turned out I truly am enjoying being an online student. Being able to do work on my own and the flexibility to schedule a class that works for my schedule has been great. Also the discussion board helps with forming bonds with other classmates through our weekly posting. During this term we have the addition of the blog site which will also help in providing a closer class community.

  1. Hi Diana, I agree with you in regards to the flexibility of online classes. It is definitely better than traditional classes that you have to schedule in order of seniority at school. I can honestly say that I haven't had any problems being able to take a particular class when I wanted to. I have to admit though, I do miss the face to face interaction with the professor and my classmates. There is just something about online that doesn't quite do for me what an actual classroom setting does. To each his own though, right?

  2. Right you are absolutely right Debbie. Online school works better for others, like myself and yet others miss the personal interaction. The bottom line is that we are getting our educational needs met.

  3. Diana,

You are definitely right about the online classes. I have been out of school since 1989, I thought it was going to be difficult for me to keep up however I have been doing very well. I feel as though I have exceeded all of my expectations by putting my best foot forward. I still have a long road ahead which will be more of a challenge but I am looking forward to the reward in the end. Good Post!
